Foodie Files: Wild Eggs

I'm typically not a breakfast person. I believe I use to be when I was living with my parents and most of my meals were prepared for me, but these days I usually choose an extra hour of sleep over food, so it's been a while since I've eaten "the most important meal of the day". Today however I woke up hungrier than usual and decided to check out one of my favorite places for breakfast/brunch, Wild Eggs before heading to class.

I use to visit Wild Eggs religiously when I lived in Louisville but I haven't been in almost a two years because there isn't one close enough and driving an hour for breakfast is doing the most even for a foodie like me. So I was thrilled to find out that the brand was adding to their franchise by building a Lexington location!

I love the interior "egg wall"; a signature at every Wild Eggs location.

Wild Eggs is famous for its fresh squeezed orange juice and "grits of the day"; which was BLT this morning! I had the Eggs Bennie; two toasted English muffins topped with crispy Canadian bacon, poached eggs, hollandaise and smoked paprika, and a tall glass of OJ! It was AMAZING, and for those of you who have never had Eggs Benedict this dish is a must at Wild Eggs!

Some of my other menu favorites include the infamous "everything muffin" and the Surfer Girl omelet! And of course you can never go wrong with the pancakes, which happen to be huge, and the french toast! The Mimosa's and Bloody Mary's are delicious as well ;]

My brunch was an amazing start to what I hope will be a very productive day! Happy Tuesday everyone!

Check out Wild Eggs on Instagram @wildeggsrestaurant; the Bloody Mary photo is originally from their page!
