White Lace

I love white for spring. It's so crisp and clean and very dangerous for this accident prone lady, but I just can't help myself. And the all over lace detailing was just icing on the cake. I'll just have to be extra, extra careful when I wear it in real life; AKA no eating, no drinking, no thinking about eating or drinking. Nada. Do not pass go.

Because this dress is a neutral, I wanted to get a little...bold with my accessories and lip color. I "borrowed" the turquoise earrings from my mom, here's hoping she doesn't notice, but the hot pink lip was a risk for me personally. I'm usually all about the nudes unless its after 10pm and I'm headed to a party, but today I decided to give it a go in the daytime. And I love it.

Triangle Patterns

Happy Derby week ya'll! The weather here in Louisville has been absolutely STUNNING and I've loved running around in it. And even though this dress is only a few weeks old, I can already tell its going to be one of my spring/summer staples.

The pattern is so fun and unique, incorporating tons of different colors so I can remix it easily without feeling like I keep wearing it the same way. Plus it has pockets. HELLO LOVER. I am obsessed with dresses that have pockets because it just makes life 100% easier. I know you know what I mean.

I decided to pair it with another one of my spring/summer staples, wedges. Even though these are from last season, they're still in really good condition and since they're nude, I can literally wear them with anything.

I hope the weather is gorgeous in your neck of the woods and I hope you have the chance to get out there and enjoy it. Stay tuned the rest of this week for a few Derby inspired outfit posts. I can't wait for you to see them!!

Happy Pretty Wednesday

Marled Knit + White Converse

I want to start off by saying that I don't know why on Earth I thought that getting white Converse was going to be a good idea. Don't get me wrong, I love love these shoes for their crisp, classic versatility. However, this southern girl is accident prone. I'm talking food in hair, makeup on shirt, mud on brand new white shoes. Trust me, I'm trying to get it together and I guess having these shoes will force me to get it together a little faster.

Other than my shoe nervousness though, I am completely obsessed with this outfit. The dress was a bit of a serendipitous find at Forever 21 which makes it that much sweeter. I went in looking for nothing in particular and found this same dress in navy blue. Of course I bought it but was dying to know if it came in grey too. Turns out it did, but since nothing in Forever 21 is ever where its suppose to be, I figured I was S.O.L. You know how that goes :]

But after a few days I decided to test my luck and went back in search of the grey dress. When I tell you I went to the OPPOSITE side of the store where I found the blue one, looked for maybe 5 minutes and found this little gem tucked between some denim jackets I am not kidding!!

Because this dress is kinda form fitting, I wanted to pair it with something that covered my tush a little in the daytime, so denim jacket to the rescue. I also added this blue + gold necklace that is super old from Francesca's and some gold hoops to tie everything together.

Floral Kimono for Spring

I've been a bad blogger ya'll. I hate that I've been neglectful, life just got a little cray cray and I've been trying to play catch up. My heads still spinning a little but things are finally starting to get back to normal. And now that we're back together again, I've got to fill you in on what's been going on.

One
Spring finally decided to grace us Kentuckian's with her presence. I can't even begin to describe how happy I am to put my winter coat away for good.

Two
I got extensions again and I'm still not 100% use to them. Contemplating layers in the near future but I will admit I feel extra extra fancy now.

Three
I got to meet the COO of Victoria's Secret last week. Such a crazy, humbling experience! Our home office team is amazing!

Four
I dropped a weight on my big toenail at the gym and now I have to wait for the sucker to grow back, I'm currently halfway there. So don't expect any close ups on my feet anytime soon.

Five
My first article for Louisville.com went live. Check it out HERE.

Now that we're all caught up, lets get to this amazing outfit!
I bought my first kimono, featured in today's post, and I can't believe I never owned one before now. They're so light and flawy; perfect way to spice up a t-shirt and jeans.
Plus this floral print is perfect for spring.

This nude clutch from Express is also quickly becoming the love of my life! It's so versatile and its big enough for all of my goodies but small enough that I don't feel like I'm carrying a suitcase at all times.

Flats: (old) similar, similar
