Hooded Sweater Dress

Sweater Dress: Express (sold out) | Boots: Charlotte Russe

At first I wasn't going to share this outfit because it was starting to get a little warm outside and I thought it might be too late. But I live in Kentucky, so naturally it went from 60s and sunshine to snow in less than 7 days. Heck it snowed over the weekend haha so here we are.

Sweater Dress: Sold out (similar and similar) | Boots: Charlotte Russe

The wind was super aggressive the day we shot these photos so please excuse my hair haha. Anyways....I love this hooded sweater dress because its different from anything I have in my closet right now. Usually I love myself a more form fitting dress but this is such a chill "I want to lay around and do nothin but I still want to look stylish" outfit.

It's also perfect addition to any wardrobe around this time of year, especially since our weather is so moody and unpredictable these days. At lest this way I won't get a cold if I can't keep up with the constant up's and down's. I don't know about ya'll but my momma raised me not to run and slip on flip flops just because the temperature kisses 60 in January. It never lasts haha and then you wake up with a cold so its also never worth it.

Unfortunately I can't find this exact dress online or in store anymore but I did link a few similar options for ya up top :]

Before I let ya'll go I do want to make a note that I traditionally don't post on Tuesdays. But I am working on building an audience here and I think consistent daily content is an important factor in that. So I'm going to hustle a little harder in order to make that happen for ya'll throughout the week. Having said that, if there's anything in particular you want to see here on the blog just drop me a line (email/twitter/instagram) whatever floats your boat :]

Have a great day guys!

My Weekend In Review: Wine Tasting at Old 502

Happy Monday friends! I hope ya'll had an amazing weekend! I know I did. It was my weekend off and if you've ever worked retail you know just how precious those two days are haha so you better believe I made the most of them. Naturally with wine and friends haha.

Now I know you're probably thinking "wine tasting and not one photo of actual wine?" yeah I know. Lets just say I've been working hard so the wine didn't last haha. But I had so much fun and even discovered a few new favorite blends.

Old 502 has been one of my favorite local wine brands for a while now. So when I discovered this AMAZING Groupon deal advertising wine tasting for just $12 (for two people) I knew I couldn't say no. So I invited one of my friends Olivia to join me and we decided to make a day out of it.

The Old 502 tasting room is small but I love how intimate it is. I would make a reservation before you go though because it did fill up in there rather quickly. The tasting went a little something like this....

So they give you a list of all the wines in the Old 502 family, whats they're made of, how sweet or dry they are, etc. Then you pick the 6 you want to try and they pour you up. Its so easy and fun plus you can ask the bartender any questions throughout your tasting. My personal favorites are the Shar Duh Nay for hot summer days and the Bore Dough is hands down my new favorite red.

After you're tasting you can buy any bottle of wine that you loved or you can head next door and grab some food (and a few more drinks) at Over the 9. Which is exactly what we did haha.

Over the 9 is a bar/restaurant located in the same complex as Old 502 and Falls City Brewery (home of Louisville's first craft beer). Apparently their culinary team is amazing, a fact I learned while writing this post, so I'll be making another trip down there for sure. All we had were french fries but even those were bomb so I'd definitely recommend this place if you're in the area.

Basically I had a blast at Old 502 and if you're local I recommend grabbing this Groupon and a friend and checking them out! They also offer packages that include a tour of the winery if you're interested in that too. Now here's to getting back to reality....haha Happy Monday.

Little Black Sweater Dress + Links I Love

Every girl should own a little black sweater dress. The kind that hugs them curves and makes you feel  like a smoke-show with minimal effort. To be honest, I have a few of these dresses, but today I wanted to share this lace up little number with you + a few links that I've loved these past few days.

Dress: Dillard's (on sale) | Booties: Dillards (on sale)

First the dress. It was honestly an impulse buy at Dillard's last fall because its black so I can wear it to work (#retailprobs). Plus ya'll know I'm all about the lace up trend. But it really won me over because of its cozy and less aggressive bodycon fit. It's effortless and appropriate for work and play and IT'S $17 RIGHT NOW. Talk about a major sale. I promise you won't regret this purchase! Plus my shoes are under $60!

Next, the links:

- As someone who is constantly updating my resume and applying for jobs in my field, I loved this post highlighting 3 mistakes we're all probably making on our resumes.

- Am I the only one in LOVE with Valentine's Day graphic tees? I've linked a few of my favorites here and here.

- Even though Im only 24, I can definitely relate to some of the things on Julie's list of 25 things she wishes she did before turning 30.

- This bomb recipe from one of my favorite food blogs Cora and Louise. Its new to me, even though the post is from last fall so I wanted to include it anyways.

Trending: Bold Bomber Jackets

*Post disclaimer*
These pictures were taking on the deck in my backyard so ignore the random flower pots everywhere haha. I had to run to work right after so my beautiful momma was gracious enough to snap these bad boys for me. I know its not the typical glam/picturesque blog location but it is real life, and ya'll know I always keep it real.

Bomber: Express  | Dress: Sold Out (similar) | Booties: old (similar)  |  Lip: Mary Jo K

Traditionally, I only go for the neutrals when picking out jackets because they're....safer, more practical, a better investment, blah blah blah. But I seriously couldn't resist this print when I saw it. Its such a statement and I love that you can literally wear it with anything.

As ya'll probably know, bomber jackets have been around for a while, but they've been trending heavily for the last few months. I know I'm super late to the party lol, but I love how they add a little something extra to any outfit. Especially with this beautiful, but sorta basic little black dress.

I will be honest and say that this was a step out of my comfort zone, because I didn't think I was cool enough to rock this jacket. But I think I did alright haha.

Unfortunately this exact jacket is no longer 40% off, but I know it'll eventually go back on sale. The retail girl in me thinks sooner rather than later so I'll be sure to keep ya'll posted. I'm wearing a large for a size reference.

If you don't want to wait for another sale to snag yourself a bomber, TONS of places are selling them. Forever 21, Charlotte Russe and ASOS all have so many different styles at a variety of prices. Perfect for everyone.

Anyways...I hope ya'll have a great and productive Monday!

Ladder Shoulder Sweater + 10 Secrets About Me

Hey friends!! Happy almost weekend! Today I wanted to do a little "get to know me" post for those of you that are new to my blog. But before we get to that, I have to talk about this amazing sweater.

Usually in the winter months I get super bored with all my clothes because I tend to wear the same thing everyday. Top, jeans, scarf, repeat. So this season I've been trying to mix things up and grab more unique pieces to add to my closet.

That's why I've been going gah gah for this sweater. Its so fun but also practical on the days you need to wear a sweater but not necessarily a jacket. The ladder shoulders add just a little bit of drama and the pale pink color was a welcomed change for this girl. I think it came in a few other colors as well.

To wrap up this post I've come up with a list of 10 secrets about me. To be honest, I'm not so sure how "secretive" they actually are haha, but at least its something fun to share with those of you who are just getting your feet wet with my site.

If it turns out we have anything in common I would love to hear in the comments below. Or if you feel like sharing a little something about you I'd love to hear that too. I'm a people person at heart so I'd love to get to know ya'll better.

10 Secrets About Me

1. I have lived in 4 different states.
2. I auditioned for American Idol when I was 16.
3. I cried every time someone sang Happy Birthday to me until I was 4.
4. I hate scary movies. Like, I can't even watch the commercials haha.
5. I traveled abroad twice in undergrad (Berlin, Germany and London, England).
6. Macaroons, tiaramisu and creme bru le are my favorite desserts.
7. I love to read. I'm honestly a bookworm at heart. Zero shame.

Softest. Sweater. Ever

Sweater: Express (similar, similar) |  Jeans: American Eagle  | Shoes: Converse | Purse: Clare V.     Earrings: H&M (similar)

I shop first by sight and second by touch. Basically, if it looks pretty and feels good its coming home with me. When I found this super soft sweater last week though, it took "feels good" to a whole new level for me. Seriously y'all, I want to take a nap in it haha. Literally roll it into a ball and sleep. It's so FLUFFY.

Apparently the rest of the world felt the same way because I can't find it online anymore. But if you go into your local Express store they might still have a few. Just in case they don't, I've linked a few more super soft sweaters for you to shop. This one runs super big and comfy which is awesome, I just tend to like my sweaters moderately fitted so I got a size small.

I also have to talk about these pants for a quick second because they're amazing. I love how they're cut out and distressed at the ankles, making them different than any other pair of jeans that I own. I saw my friend Brie wearing them and basically became that obnoxious friend until I found them online haha.

As a whole this outfit is easy and effortless which is exactly what I need this time of year. I do wish I could tell ya'll that our Kentucky weather has cooperated long enough for me to wear this outfit more than once, but of course it has not ha!

Happy Wednesday ya'll. See you tomorrow.

Hello 2017 + My Resolutions

I know I'm two weeks late, but Happy New Year friends! Better late than never right lol. I cannot believe how fast time is already flying in 2017 but I am so blessed and excited to see what God has in store for me this year.

For those of you that don't know me personally, 2016 was a very difficult year for me. I'll be sharing more on why a little later, but right now I really want to press forward and make sure I am laying the foundation for a successful and productive year. And even though I think the whole "new year, new me" motto is a wee bit unrealistic, I am a believer in the "new year, better me" movement. So in that spirit, today I want to share a few of my resolutions with you! Be sure to let me know what your goals are too in the comments below. I'd love to know more about what you have planned for the new year.

Top: Express  | Jeans: Express (similar)  | Booties: Charlotte Russe (similar) | Bag: Dooney and Bourke (similar)

1. Plan out my mornings.
"Get up when you wake up". Super easy to say but very hard to do. Especially when your alarm goes off at 8am and you have no scheduled plans for the day. But I've found that consistently waking up and getting my body moving not only helps with my productivity, but I genuinely feel better not wasting the day away. That's why I really want to get in the habit of planning out my mornings. Even if my list is something as simple as laundry, go to the gym, etc.

2. Spend more time with God each day.
Almost every morning, the first thing I do when I wake up is reach for my phone and start checking social media. But this year, I really want to dedicate more of my time to God. I personally love devotionals and journaling. For me, this is the best way to end my days or start new one. Being focused and feeding my spirit is something I really want to make a priority.

3. Explore adding video content to the blog.
Theres no question that I am a people person, but sometimes I feel like my personality only comes out so much via text here on the blog. So I really want to explore incorporating videos into my content so that you can get a fuller scope of who I am haha. I will be honest and say I have no clue what I'm doing in that area and know I will need the help of a videographer, I am so excited to explore this platform.

Speaking of video, make sure you're following me on snap @mpaige_x.

4. Travel. Travel. Travel
I have so many places on my wanderlust list its kind of ridicules. I wasn't able to travel a lot in 2016 but I'm hoping to change that this year. I already have a few trips planned, but at the top of my list is a relaxing, lay on the beach and do nothing kind of vacation.

5. Practice and perfect consistency
This one is pretty self explanatory, and I want to start with this blog. I love curating content here for you guys every week and I know that I can make something of this little dream if I'm consistent.

6. My own apartment + a puppy
Last spring, I quit a job I was unhappy with and moved back to Louisville to live with my parents while I worked. Being home has been great but now I'm itching for my own place and a little puppy.

8. Debt free
This is a really big goal for me because I know how much dedication its going to require. But honestly "debt free is the new sexy" and I am ready to be apart of that team haha (I'm not sure if thats a real thing or if I just made it up).

7. Healthy from the inside out
I haven't been able to workout in a few months but ya'll I am SO EXCITED to get back into the gym this week. Everybody knows that summer bodies are built in the winter so now is the time for me to get it together. I've also been eating 80% Whole 30 for the past few weeks but tomorrow I'm going the full 100%. So ya'll pray for me (I think I'm going to miss dairy the most lol).

That's all I've got for ya'll today! I hope you enjoyed this post. Be sure to leave your goals for 2017 in the comments below. I'd love to hear them.

See you Wednesday!
