I can almost feel the weather settling into pretty consistent warmth. Almost. But since its still a little wishy washy, I am cherishing the pretty days we get here in the bluegrass state. Between me and you though, I'm itching for full blown sunshine and singing birds haha. Zero patience over here.

If you're like me, then you slowly add pieces into your wardrobe to help ring in a new season. That's why I was so excited when Cabi Clothing reached out and wanted to collar in celebration of their new Yacht Club collection. Ya'll the pieces are beautiful. I will be styling a few of my favorites here on the blog over the next few days but today its all about this gorgeous shoulder tie tank.

Tank tops usually get labeled as frumpy and super casual but Im so excited that Cabi broke that mold with this printed orange and white top (and another top that I get to share with ya'll next week). The feminine ties are so much fun plus this print will look gorgeous on everyone!

Before I leave ya'll for the day I wanted to share some things that I'm super excited about for spring! Make sure you drop your favorites below too! Happy Thursday!

5 Things I'm Excited About For Spring

1. Afternoons at Keenland and Downs After Dark events at Churchill Downs. Pretty dresses, sunshine and bourbon; sign me up!
2. Going to the farmers market on the weekends. I love picking up fresh vegetables and yummy macaroons.
3. Peonies finally coming back in season. Seriously ya'll they are my favorite flower ever and I can't wait to put them up in my bedroom and my new office.
4. Outdoor eating. Self explanatory really.
5. Thunder over Louisville and all the super fun pre Derby events! There's so much going on in Louisville its hard to keep up but its such a fun time to be in Kentucky.

Work Wear + Pops Of Color

Top: Ann Taylor  |  Skirt: Who What Wear  |  Shoes: Charlotte Russe  | Earrings: H&M (similar and similar)

When I got my new big girl job one of the first thoughts in my head was "oh my gosh what am I gonna wear"?! Transitioning from my all black all the time wardrobe to something a little more freeing was exciting but daunting at the same time. For one almost everything in my closet would need to be replaced and I also didn't want to fall into that "work wear is boring" trap I know a lot of people slip into. So I've sort of embarked on this journey where I'm trying to both build my work wardrobe and stock up on some really great pieces.

Thank goodness for Target, the place where all my money goes to die and my mother for introducing me to this amazing skirt from Who What Wear. I always love the collabs that Target does with other brands and celebrities but if you're a working woman like me you have to check out this full collection. Its so chic and young but classic enough to wear to the office.

I'm also loving Ann Taylor's options like this lantern sleeve blouse. You can wear it a million different ways but be careful because it does snag super easily. I did add my super old tassel earrings to spice things up a bit. They might be a tad bit too much for work but for you guys I had to add a little somethin' somethin'.

I'd love to hear some of your favorite places to shop for office wear! I'm still on the look out for more great pieces. I can't wait to share what I find here with ya'll.

March Madness + 5 Lessons I Learned In College

Tee: Shop Local Kentucky  |  Jeans: American Eagle  |  Shoes: Converse  |  Necklace: Calypso Boutique

There's really nothing like March Madness in Kentucky. NOTHING. As many of you know I went to the University of Kentucky for 4 years, so I've been able to experience that Kentucky crazy first hand. Needless to say I had and still continue to have countless mini heart attacks every time the cats play, but oh how I miss those simple days running around Lexington after a big win.

And even though we lost last night, I'm still super proud of my alma matter and the lessons that I learned during my 4 years in Cat country. Plus I was not going to let this outfit go to waste. So today I wanted to share this super cute and casual March Madness look and 10 lessons I learned in college (outside the classroom).

Tee: Shop Local Kentucky  |  Jeans: American Eagle  |  Shoes: Converse  |  Necklace: Calypso Boutique

1. It's completely okay to not know what you want to do with your life. That kind of self discovery takes time for some people. I know for me, I changed my major my sophomore year and never looked back but even then I would always say "I don't know what I'm doing" because I didn't. I've even had a few hiccups since graduation when it came to finding a job, but God is so faithful and it's seriously all come full circle now.

2. Take advantage of every resource around you and create your own opportunities. From joining clubs to utilizing your schools gym and academic advisers, you have SO MUCH at your finger tips when you enroll in a university. A lot of people I went to school with took little to no advantage of all of the amazing resources and struggled unnecessarily as a result. So ask questions, get involved, all the things!

3. Boys will always be there. Seriously, always haha. So don't stress over them. Self explanatory.

4. I wasn't as "together" as I thought I was. For me college was a hard fast eye opener on who I was as a person. I grew up very overprotected so having limitless freedoms kind of got the best of me and negatively affected both me and some of my relationships. Thank God for my amazing friends for helping snap me back to reality. And even those that time was hard to go through, I'm glad it happened because the strength I've been able to draw from it has been amazing in helping me get over things faster as an adult.

5. Traveling is good for the soul. I traveled abroad twice when I was at UK and they were hands down some of my favorite memories to date. So if you have any opportunity to travel abroad take them. I promise you will not regret it.

I look back on all my memories from UK with nothing but love and happiness! Some days I seriously wish I could go back and relive it all, the social parts at least. So if you're still in school don't stop pushing and enjoy every second, it goes by way too quick.

Before I leave ya'll today I want to highlight this super cute shirt from Shop Local Ky. It's so soft and comfy plus the brand as a whole seriously makes the funniest tees ever. Like this Banners Earned, Couches Burned and this Kentucky Attitude with Drake Feelings tee haha. So if you're ever in Lexington make sure you pay them a visit. I know you'll find something that you love!

My Go To Spring Outfit

Top: Dillards (similar and similar)  |  Jeans: Express  |  Shoes: Charlotte Russe

Can you believe I've owned this shirt since October and this is my first time wearing it?! I honestly forgot it was hanging in my closet because I purchased it at Dillard's during their HUGE January sale earlier this year (for just $12 I might add). So naturally I couldn't wear it back then, so it got stashed away in the back of my closet with all my other summer beauties.

But as I was prepping for this shoot I stumbled upon it and fell in love all over again. The style is perfect, strapless with a high low detail. I can wear it with high waisted skirts, jeans or even high waisted shorts once it gets a little warmer. I can already tell its going to become one of my go to pieces for spring.

Anyways, I hope you guys have an amazing hump day. I am currently en route to Wisconsin and I'm so excited. I've never been before but anyplace thats all about the cheese is alright in my book.

See ya'll tomorrow!

Swim Cover Ups Under $50

Ya'll absolutely LOVED my post on the best places to buy swimsuits, so today I wanted to do a similar post, but this time I focused on cover ups under $50.

I don't know about you, but whenever I go to the beach or the pool I ALWAYS forget a cover up. So I end up messing up a dress or wearing wet shorts, neither of which are comfortable or fashionable. And even though I know I'm suppose to be here to inspire and make your lives easier, I really wrote this post to remind myself to buy one of these bad boys for summer. Two birds. One blog post.

So today I've pulled some super cute cover ups so the both of us will have all our ducks in a row by the time the weather is consistently warm. Oh! speaking of getting ducks in a row, I start with my personal trainer today and I am beyond excited. I feel like I always make excuses for myself when it comes to working out, but to be honest I'm too young to not be in the best shape of my life. I'll be sure to keep ya'll posted on my progress and I also hope to start incorporating active wear into my posts so let me know if thats something ya'll would be interested in.

Have a great day!

Transition Into Spring With Black And White Dresses

Dress: New York and Company  |  Shoes: Charlotte Russe

Lately I've been all about the classics when it comes to my wardrobe. Little black dresses, nautical stripes and anything black + white. I've been adding these pieces to my wardrobe slowly but with intention for several reasons:

1. They never go out of style which means more wear for Morgan.
2. They are perfect transitional pieces which is amazing since I know a lot of people have had crazy weather these last few weeks.
3. Since starting my new job, I'm trying to follow the rule of "if I can't wear it to work I'm not buying it" with 80% of my purchases. So when I found this black and white striped dress I fell in love not only because it met my new shopping criteria, but it had a little something special, white pleat sleeves. To me, they make the dress and it's ON SALE under $35! I did decide to size up on this dress so that I could wear it to work and it wouldn't fit too short or too tight.

Dress: New York and Company  |  Shoes: Charlotte Russe

Seriously ya'll how cute right!? And the stripes with the blue wall is just magic!

Since this dress has become a new staple in my wardrobe, I rounded up a few other bomb black and white stripe dressed under $50 for ya'll just in case this one isn't your jam or you need some more inspiration. My ride or die watch and $25 shoes are linked as well. I hope ya'll have an amazing Monday!

Bold Lace Top

As a chocolate girl, I LIVE for a bold pop of color. From a red lip to a show stopping bright dress, those bright pinks/reds/corals always seems to add a little "hello hello look at me" to any outfit ha. So when I saw this top I was instantly attracted to the beautiful color and knew it would be a stunner. The delicate lace details also add a little something extra to this beautiful top as well. Sidebar: while I believe that as women we can wear WHATEVER we want, I do recommend finding those specific colors and tones that look bomb on you. Everyone has them, I bet as you're reading this you already know what I'm talking about! I find that knowing what looks good on your skin tone/hair color helps add that little boost of internal confidence which is always a plus!

Top: Banana Republic  |  Jeans: Express  |  Shoes: Steve Madden

Now, can we take a moment please for these shoes. First of all I have a serious problem when it comes to Steve Madden. He can do no wrong in my eyes which is good for my feet and bad for my wallet.

This open toed ankle bootie is so comfortable to wear both to work or dinner with your girlfriends. Plus the sandy nude makes it super versatile and easy to style. You NEED this in your life okay. I promise you'll get so much wear out of them and the quality is amazing.

Have a great day guys! It's almost the weekend (put your party pants on).

Step Into Spring With Ann Taylor

If you follow along with me on social media then you know that I hosted a fun spring event last Friday with my local Ann Taylor. I was so excited to invite my friends and join me in celebrating not only my new job but the start of a brand new season. Ann Taylor has so many beautiful pieces right now so I knew I had to share a few looks with ya'll here on the blog. Stay tuned for full outfits but I have linked a few pieces that I picked up below.

This. Dress. Is. Stunning. The color is so much yes I can't even take it. I'm wearing a size medium here but I could also wear a large comfortably as well.

I also got this stripe wrap dress, because I really need more stripes in my life. I'll be shooting this look later this week so it should go live later this month.

This cascading ruffle top would add so much to any basic black pair of pants or jeans. It also comes in a gorgeous coral and a black.

I love this top! It's super light weight and perfect for warmer days, of which we have yet to see for more than 24 hours so far. But I gotta believe they're coming to stay here soon.

I'm wearing a petite large for size reference. Oh! Say hi to my sweet friend Olivia for coming out to support me. Love you girl!

If you haven't checked out the Ann Taylor spring collection I've linked it here for you. I know a lot of people might initially shy away from brands like this because of the sticker shock, but I promise you they have some pretty AMAZING sales!! So make sure you check in with them every now and then.

Have a great day beauties!
