The Birthday Post: 10 Lessons I've Learned by 25

Happy Monday beauties and happy 25th birthday to me!! To be completely honest I've had mixed emotions about this milestone for a couple of reasons. One, because I've always thought 25 was a real adult birthday and most days I still feel like a kid making stuff up as I go along. Two, because 24 was a really rough year for me. Honestly the toughest year of my life. Health scares, death in my family, quitting a job I hated, feeling so lost in my search for love and myself....it was just a mess from start to finish.

But I know that God allows certain seasons to happen in our lives for a reason. Looking back, I know the purpose of this past year was to push me out of my comfort to not only grow but trust and depend on God in every situation. It not only brought out the fighter in me but in my friends as well who have been so supportive and prayed for me through every high and every low.

And now, as I stare 25 in the face I know its going to be an amazing year! God is already showing me that He has big things planned for me and I am excited to walk into every blessing He has my name on!

So today I've crafted a list of 5 lessons I've learned by 25 and 5 things I want to do this year. I thought actually listing 25 things was a wee bit aggressive so 10 is the perfect number. I also wanted to share this bomb look that I shot over the weekend in Houston (which was so much fun)! If you follow me along on social then you got some sneaks at my time with my girlfriends, which was much needed.

5 Lessons I've Learned By 25

1. Your youth does not guarantee your health. Take care of yourself!
2. It really is okay to be alone sometimes.
3. Don't feel guilty about having too much cake or drinking an extra glass of wine.
4. Letting go of relationships that are toxic is hard but you NEED to do it.
5. Most people are running off the "fake it till you make" motto girlfriend. You don't need to have it together all the time.

5 Things I Want To Do This Year

1. Take a solo vacation.
2. Consistently practice yoga.
3. Spend more time with my little brother.
4. Start taking vocal lessons.
5. Cook more meals at home #domesticated.

Anyways I'm off to work and a little after dinner celebration. Y'all have a great day!
